Ningbo Dongqian Lake Ecological Restoration Project

Dongqian Lake, also known as Qian Lake or Wanjin Lake, is a famous scenic spot in Zhejiang Province. It is 15 kilometers east of Ningbo City. The southeast of the lake is backed by mountains, while the northwest is adjacent to the plain. Its geographical coordinates are 121°34' east longitude and 28°52' north latitude. It is part of the geological structure of Fujian and Zhejiang provinces. It was formed as a natural lagoon during ancient geological movements. It was praised by Guo Mofu as "the scenery of West Lake, the scale of Taihu Lake". Dongqian Lake consists of three parts: Guizi Lake, Mei Lake and Outer Lake. It is 8.5 kilometers long from north to south and 6.5 kilometers wide from east to west. The perimeter of the lake is 45 kilometers and its area is 22 square kilometers. It is the largest (natural) freshwater lake in Zhejiang Province, three times the size of West Lake in Hangzhou, with an average water depth of 2.2 meters and a total storage capacity of 33.9 million cubic meters.

Yinjiang Environmental Protection has targeted the water quality characteristics along the shore of Dongqian Lake. Based on the goal of enhancing the self-purification capacity of the water area along the shore of Dongqian Lake and restoring the natural ecology, it has adopted engineering measures such as ecological revetments and planting of aquatic plants. At the same time, it has strengthened the daily maintenance work in the lake area, resulting in improvements in various water quality indicators, presenting a scene of clear water, green shore and beautiful scenery.
